CIVIL LIBERTIES
“OUR LIVES BEGIN AND END THE DAY WE BECOME SILENT ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER”

Do you know that voting in your local elections directly affects your daily life
Did you know that most government employees are employed by your state and local government. This means that your state and local government is directly responsible for many things that directly affect you or someone in your family. Here are just a few examples of those things:
- Education
- Public transit
- Police & Fire departments
- Public works
- Criminal Justice reforms
- Taxes
Because most local elections are decided by a few votes, low voter turnout can and will make a big difference in what passes into law and what doesn’t. “Simply put, not voting is really voting for the other guy and giving up your voice”.
So you tell me, how important do you think voting in your local election is?
Here are somethings to do to make sure you can vote in the next election:
- How to check your voter registration status.
- Confirm your voter registration status on Florida election website.
- How to register to vote.
- You can register to vote by mail or in person on Florida election website.
- Voter registration deadlines
- Online registration deadline: 29 days before election day
- Register by mail deadline: Must be postmarked 29 days before election day.
- In person registration deadline: 29 days before election day
- Other ways to register to vote.
- You can also go online and download the National Voters Registration Form (PDF).
